  1. The paradox in the upper echelone of the ultra modern Pakistani society is the focus of this presentation. But it is very rare that women go to such extremes as shown in the characters of Sara and and Asmara. They must be very rare breed in the conservative society of a most backward country like Pakitan, which is still existing in the 12th century.
Europe also witnessed such a period during the 14th and 15th centuries. when Catholics and Protestants were mudering each others like crazy. But that region of the world got out of that bloody mess, by throwing the pope out of their lives.
Anyways, the real character which represents the true poverty striken Pakistani women is Kasheb. Samina Saeed has played that character with immense succsess and ample dexterity. She is a very bright and intelligent woman, who upholds the social values of a lower middle class stratum of the society.
Zaroon and Farhan seem to be misfits in the social setup they belong to. Boys of that category are mostly Casanovas of the current era. They are first rate womenizers and have hell of a good time with the girls like their girl friends. They believe in Umer-e-Khyam’s rubie,”eat, drink and be merry, lest you may die tomorrow.”
The subject is very interesting, but it will be worth watching, how the writer makes it unfold. It is hard to believe Zaroon and Kasheb could fall in love. Is this is the concept the entire plot is woven around?
